Faye King of the County Liners 4-H club delivers
4-H bears to P.A. Rod King and Nurse Jane Fitzpatrick at
the Avera Volga Medical Clinic. The 4-H Bear Community Service project
helps 4-Hers reach out to other children in local clinics,
day cares and pediatric facilities. – 2006 |
SDSU Collegiate 4-H Club Volunteers Raise $38,584
 |
The South Dakota State University Collegiate 4-H Club volunteer
over 500 hours assisting the South Dakota 4-H Foundation in
the State 4-H Phonathon. Collegiate 4-H members contacted
South Dakota 4-H Alumni to raise $38,584 for 4-H programs
and in return receive grants from the Foundation for their
service projects.

Caring for Katrina
Backpack Project

4-H members and Avera staff
at 5 sites in SD packed boxes with backpacks that included
winter clothes, letters & holiday wishes to children of
Hurricane Katrina – State
4-H Council Ambassadors worked with the Avera sites to make
this happen!
“I feel this was a good way for 4-H, Character
Counts, Avera, and the Foundation to work together to help
those in need. It was also a fun Christmas Community
